Vacular Laser: Correction of Vascular Origin

Skin problems of a vascular kind are more usual than you may think. Whether it is clusters of small reddish veins, rosacea or hemangiomas in various areas of the face or body, vascular laser can take care of them easily, efficiently and fast, without any necessary recovery time.

What is vascular laser?

Vascular laser by a well renowned American company Candela is the most efficient solution for skin problems of vascular origin. Laser beam causes fast withdrawal of the visible vessels. Those ugly red spider webs will then slowly fade and you’ll be left with porcelain looking complexion.

This laser can treat various very common skin problems of a vascular kind such as rosacea, couperose, scattered skin reddening, excessive blushing etc. There have been amazing results in treating acne with the very same laser too.

Which areas can be treated by this procedure?

Treatment of the cheeks is the most popular one, however the laser can be used for basically every facial or body area.

The effect of vascular laser

The treatment is ambulatory and takes up to 30 minutes. There are no limitations or recovery time needed afterwards, it is only recommended not to expose the treated area to the sun for approximately three weeks. That does not mean you can’t go outside in the sun, it is simply not recommended to tan. It is also recommended to protect your skin with the sun screen with SPF 50.

What are rosacea, couperose etc.?

Rosacea is a long term skin condition characterized by facial redness, small and superficial dilated blood vessels on facial skin, papules, pustules, and swelling. Rosacea typically begins as redness on the central face across the cheeks, nose, or forehead, but can also less commonly affect the neck, chest, ears, and scalp. Vascular laser is especially efficient in treating this condition as the classical treatment (i.e. creams and ointments) tends to have unsure results.

Couperose is a condition where the skin appears red due to the presence of small, dilated red blood vessels visible on the face. It is mostly caused by the extreme temperature impact of the skin (such as during extensive tanning, visiting sauna or being exposed to frost). It can also be influenced by genetic predispositions and excessive alcohol consumption.

A hemangioma is a benign and usually self-involuting tumour characterised by increased number of normal or abnormal vessels filled with blood. It usually appears in the first weeks of life and grows most rapidly over the first six months. Hemangiomas are one of the very frequent skin problems of vascular origin and tend to grow and spread through the years if not removed.

A port-wine stain (also commonly called a firemark) is almost always a birthmark. It is caused by a vascular anomaly (a capillary malformation in the skin) and ordinarily persists throughout life. Port-wine stains occur most often on the face but can appear anywhere on the body, particularly on the neck and upper trunk. Early stains are usually flat and pink in appearance. As the child matures, the color may deepen to a dark red or purplish color.

Hello, I’ve had a red spot in my face since childhood. It’s not a freckle, it’s red. I’d like to have it removed together with small veins in my face I’ve been hiding with a concealer so far.

Hello, I’d like to have spider webs removed from my thighs, it’s quite a big area on my right leg. 28 years old. Is it possible to undergo this procedure in the summer or should I wait until autumn?

It is indeed possible to undergo this procedure in the summer; however, we don’t recommend exposing the treated skin to direct sun for approximately 3 weeks afterwards. That doesn’t mean you cannot go outside, it means no summer vacations by the sea after the treatment. The skin should also be protected by a sun cream with SPF 50.

Hello, I’d like to have my red webs in the face removed. They are mostly around the nose and on my cheeks. Will I be reddish after the treatment?

It is possible that the treated area will seem reddish after the treatment. Such condition will, however, disappear within hours, days the latest. The very next day after the treatment you can apply your make-up, so the slight redness shouldn’t be a problem.

Because of my occupation, as I need to stand up all day while working, I have a problem with visible veins on my legs. Is it possible to correct them somehow?
